Recipes
Welcome to My Kitchen
I love to cook, but I am one of the worlds laziest cooks around. If the recipe uses more than two pots or has ingredients I can not pronounce, forget it. I am one of those people that loves recipes that call for the old favorites like canned soup, onion soup mix, and Bisquick. My kids grew up thinking homemade cookies were two graham crackers stuck together with canned frosting, and macaroni and cheese was always bright orange.
Yes, I admit, if it didn’t come out of a can or box, my family didn’t know about it. It wasn’t all because of laziness, it had a lot to do with budget of both time and money.
That part has not changed much. I would love to be able to afford to buy fresh and top quality, but I can’t and I don’t mind. I enjoy taking what I can afford and making the most of it. If a new recipe works, that’s great, if it’s not so good, we laugh and I promise not to do it again.
The recipes you will find here are simple, cheap and kitchen tested. Everyone of them, I have cooked, eaten, and served to my family, and they have made it to the “Do Again” list.
I hope you find something you like and “Good Cooking” to all of you!
Watermelon Sherbet Smoothie
Ingredients:
3 cups fresh watermelon cubes
1 cup crushed ice
1 cup red sherbet
4 tsp. lime juice
1/2 cup miniature chocolate chips

Directions:
About 10 minutes before you’re ready to mix the smoothies, place four tall glasses in the freezer to frost.
Combine the crushed ice, watermelon cubes, lime juice and sherbet, and blend until smooth.
Pour the mixture into the frosted glasses and top each one with a half dozen or so miniature chocolate chips.
Super Simple Sandwich Wraps
This will take you less time to make than to say. The kids will love making these.
Ingredients:
1 pk Burrito Size Flour Tortillas
Your favorite sandwich fillings
Directions:
Lay one tortilla in front of you and apply your favorite fillings, using the middle third of the circle. Do not over fill, this tend to make things sloppy and wasted.
Flip the front third of the tortilla over on top of your filling and start rolling in a tight roll, like making a jelly roll all the way to the end.
Cut your roll in half and then the halves in half. Making four nice pieces.
There you have it. No fuss, no muss and no hot cooking on those summer days. Put all your fillings and condiments on the table and have a Roll your own party.
Hope you enjoy!!

** This was a big hit with the family. Much better than a box mix **
