Enjoying the Busy
I have been on a cleaning kick the past few weeks and it is still with me. Today I was washing dishes at 5:30 am and laundry by 8:30. The PT (physical therapist) was due to arrive at 10 am and 10 mins before she came I decided to move furniture around so Sue could use her walker all the way through the house with no obstacles in her way. So when she showed up, she caught me in the middle of pushing dressers and jukebox and table here and there. She has become a custom to me and just gave me a wink, said to remember to use my legs and went in to Sue’s room.
When Sue opened the door to her room to do her walk to the front door, she just stood there staring at the empty hallway and she was tickled pink when she found out she could go all the way to the front door, and back door with no problems. She even went in the kitchen, which she hasn’t done in about 6 years.
Both Sue and Sandy (the PT) were happy with the changes and of course I was warm all over. Inside with pride and outside with sweat! Sue felt so good that after Sandy left and I was vacuuming the rugs, she asked to barrow the vacuum so “she” could do her room. Another thing she hasn’t done since she came down with MS. It is amazing what a little bit of confidence can do for someone.
Anyway, that has been my morning so far. Probably totally boring to most people, but for me, definitely a “journal moment”. And to think, it isn’t even noon yet!
Have a good day and look for the little things,

Getting Ready for the “Fresh Start”
I look forward to New Years because it is like having a chance at a fresh start and clean slate. Oh, I know, you can actually do that everyday, but a New Year just seems so Momentous. Also, it is so much easier to remember!
If you are anything like me, you have been thinking about all the things that have happened in this past year and marveling at just how fast it seems to have slipped by.
Big things, little things, all things. Some strange, some typical, good, bad and some even great. Another year, another year of memories, another year of life.
Something I will be doing is setting goals, but not the outrageous ones I have in past years. After all, I think I have gone past the age of supermodel and my chances of becoming a millionaire are a bit low.
So I am going to focus on the things I “know” I can do and really “need” to do. Like finding my ability and making it a good or even great talent.
I also want to learn more things. I love to learn, it makes me very happy and I think this year is going to be the “me” year. I will be focusing more on me and getting my world on track. Does that sound selfish? Oh well, I guess I afford to be a bit selfish this late in life.
I also want to get a bit more organized. I know, I say that every year, several times a year and it has yet to happen. I will say it again with the true hope that maybe this year it happens!
So, there are a few of my “Fresh Start” wishes. Have you made yours yet?
Christmas Crazy
Have you ever run across a scrapbook kit that just
popped out at you? Well, the other day I decided I really needed to get in the
Christmas Spirit and the first thing that came to mind was scrapping a few
layouts for the holidays. So I went to my favorite online store,
DSP, and
started checking out the new Christmas themed kits.
There are so many beautiful kits, I had a hard time choosing. Then I ran across
the
Jolly Holly Page kit by Meryl Bartho, and I was hooked. The colors just
sparkle and I had ideas before I even got it paid for and downloaded.
Needless to say, I have been on a scrapping kick.

This one was done for my journal. I needed
reminders and this was much prettier than post it notes stuck all over.

This is Tila, the youngest of my fur babies. She loves Christmas. There are
so many things to play with.

This is Beauty Brown Eyes, fuzzy butt for short. Her favorite place to sleep
is in the Christmas tree. Even during the summer you will find her curled up in
the tree down cellar.

This is Smokey, my mother-in-laws best friend and guardian.
I know I am not a good scrapper, and my photo skills are even worse, but this
kit even made MY work look good!
Thanks for Looking!
