I so love this time of year. Not so much for the glitz and sparkle, though I do love all that but I look forward to this of year because it is the best excuse to do something I just LOVE to do without any guilty feelings at all.
This is the time of year I get to Cook and Bake to my hearts content.
Early in October I will start pouring through recipes with pen and paper in hand, making list after list of all the new and old goodies I want to make. I am not a chef or even a great cook, but I love every minute I spend in the kitchen. Yes, even doing dishes is a pleasure if I was able to create something yummy good while making the mess.
I admit I am a penny pincher and I tend to look for recipes that have less than 5 ingredients and if it has something I can’t pronounce or find in a common grocery store, it gets left off my lists. Very seldom will I buy fresh or fancy and I tend to do a lot of shopping in Dollar Stores and Grocery Outlets. I know that real always taste better than immitation, but on my budget, I have to make due. Remember, pasta, chicken and ground turkey are staples in my house.
Pillsbury and Kraft are my favorite hang out places on the web. I look forward to getting their newsletters in the mail almost daily. Many a recipe from them have gone in to my scrapbook and are used over and over. Most are simple and very reasonable in cost.
Do you have a favorite recipe, cooking tip or place to find easy but good recipes? If you do let me know, I am always on the lookout for new fun!
Thanks for stopping by and Happy Cooking!
